This unique course pairs classroom learning and an immersive tour experience to equip economic development practitioners with the knowledge to support redevelopment, adaptive reuse, and attract private investment. Participants will learn about barriers to redevelopment, the development process, opportunity identification, utility considerations, incentives, general plans, zoning fundamentals and other planning tools that intersect with and impact redevelopment. Participants will then see these principles in action by touring real redevelopment sites with the economic development experts that delivered the project
